Vacuuming is an extremely important part of maintaining your carpet and insuring it's longevity. A quality vacuum cleaner will rid your carpet of gritty soil that wears down your carpet fibers. Here is a great ratings guide for the latest in vacuum cleaners. Some of these vacuums I have not personally used. However, this guide will help you select the perfect vacuum for your particular situation and needs. I've used the Shark Navigator and agree that it is top heavy and cumbersome. I have owned a Dirt Devil Dynamite in the past and it had a short motor life. I'm intrigued by the Hoover "T"and it's pet hair attachments. I am going to demo the Bissel Poweredge hard floor machine as I have massive pet hair issues with my dog! This is not an exhaustive list, but will bring up points you may have not thought about. I was suprised that Dyson and Oreck were not on this list. Many of my clients have Dysons and swear by them and I have an Oreck XL in my home and would never buy anything else- it's incredibly light and sucks up everything in my carpets (not great on wood floors, however). And don't forget professional cleaning every 6 months to a year- Call Cleancare at 303-530-0646.
