How To Keep Carpet Clean in Arvada, CO 80007.

Often the first thing your guests notice when they enter your home is your floors. Keeping carpet clean is an easy way to add to the overall appearance of your home. Plus, having clean, fluffy, soft carpet improves your mood. Carpet is also the biggest and possibly most effective air filter in your home. Clean carpet improves your home’s overall health as well as the health of your family by absorbing toxins, allergens and germs.
The following basic procedures will help you keep your carpet fresh, clean, healthy and long lasting.
The following tips cover the different aspects of how to keep you carpet looking great all year.
1. Consistent Vacuuming
Vacuuming is the simplest and easiest way to keep carpet clean and lasting. Dirt, ice melt particles and other grainy soil can act like sandpaper on your carpet fibers, grinding them into worthless fuzz. Regular vacuuming, at least once a week, is imperative to the life and beauty of your home’s carpet. However, the more foot traffic, the more you will need to vacuum. Some carpet warranties even recommend vacuuming once per week for each pair of feet living in your home!
2. Deep Extraction Cleaning
You may know deep cleaning by a number of different names (i.e. hot-water extraction, steam cleaning), but deep cleaning is vital to the life of carpet. The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) recommends a deep cleaning using Seal of Approval (SOA) products every 12-18 months to refresh carpet and remove the deepest dirt. And try and stay away from cheap, brush-the-dirt-off carpet cleaning. Carpet needs to be thoroughly cleaned and extracted, not just soaked with water by a splash-and-dash amateur cleaning company! Cleancare of Boulder is here for you, providing the most thorough cleaning ever... or it's FREE!
3. Proactive Spot Removal
Spots and stains can happen anywhere and anytime, but the most important thing you can do is treat the stain as soon as it happens. This will dramatically reduce the chance of the spot or stain re-soiling. CRI SOA solutions are tested and certified for their ability to effectively remove stains and minimize re-soiling. At Cleancare of Boulder, we GIVE every client a FREE bottle of the greatest carpet spot cleaner in the world, CRI approved, Avenge. And… we give free refills of Avenge whenever you request!
4. Generous Entry Mats and/or Shoe Removal
Put an entry mat at every entrance to carpeted areas. Outside entries are the most important. Especially from the garage and front and back yards. Have your family get in the habit of wiping their shoes off on your entry mats every time they enter the home. Better yet, have a zero shoe policy inside your home: No shoes allowed!
NOTE: Walking on your carpet with bare feet is almost as bad as wearing shoes. The oil in your skin as well as lotions applied to your feet get absorbed by your carpet and this attracts soil. Often, this is where dirty traffic lanes come from even in homes where shoes are not allowed. Wear socks!
If you follow these basic principles, your home’s carpet will stay healthy and looking beautiful throughout the year.
