Okay, so this is a decent procedure for removing fingernail polish from carpet. Remember to blot and not rub hard as that can smear the polish and make a worse mess. However, No need to bother with the other chemicals. From my 20 plus years of experience cleaning carpet, fingernail polish remover is the only thing that will work. Maybe that's why they call it fingernail polish remover! Use it sparingly. Don't soak the carpet with it as it will damage the carpet foundation. Once you have removed as much as you can, spray and blot with water a number of times to rinse the chemical out. Finish by blotting with dry rags and placing a phone book over a folded rag and letting it sit for an hour to draw the moisture out of the carpet and pad.
