This video shows that YOU can remove gum from carpet yourself! I would suggest, however, that you not use the kabob skewer and just use the simple spoon and fork from your utensil drawer (maybe your camping utensils?). Poke holes in the gum with the fork. Dab on the solvent and let sit for a few minutes. Work at the gum with the fork and then lift off the gum with the spoon edge with a scraping action. Also,your last step should NEVER be a cleaner when cleaning carpet. Spray clear water on the area to rinse it and compress with a towel to remove cleaning materials.
